Paradise Found

The last few weeks have been filled with research for an event we are producing in St. Lucia. Pulling together any event from 2,000 miles away, let alone from another country, is filled with challenges that can destroy the most well thought-out plans if you don’t know what to look out for. From securing the right vehicles, to getting real estate brokers to return phone calls, these details are all in a days work when planning a destination event.

We’ve reached out to some of our contacts in the travel industry and have been able to secure one-of-a-kind locations with views that will impress the most seasoned travelers. Here are a just a few of the great finds we’ve made:

Jade Mountain (http://www.jademountain.com), rated the #1 resort in the Caribbean and the #3 resort in the World by Travel+Leisure, promises to be pure bliss. Waking up each morning and sliding from your bed to your private plunge pool is something that sounds fabulous.

The Pitons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitons), are tops on many “must-see” lists. Villas in this area are especially private and remote, just right for the person looking to get away from it all. The occasional celebrity is rumored to hide out in these hills from time to time.

The diving in St Lucia is some of the best in the world, so hopefully we can experience it while visiting. Scuba St. Lucia (http://www.scubastlucia.com) is the only dive center on the island with the acclaimed National Geographic courses that teach sustainable ecotourism-focused classes.

Getting there is also now easier, with JetBlue (http://www.jetblue.com) offering flights three days a week — just be careful not to miss your flight home, or you could end up being stuck there for a few more days… although, perhaps not such a bad idea in our book.

Beautiful Boddington Designs

We are such fans of Mr. Boddington’s Stationery and so excited to collaborate with them on a wedding this month at our fave Bowery Hotel. Mr Boddington’s created this gorgeous stationery suite for our couple to incorporate their rustic theme and rich fall colors. From the font, to the saturated colors, to the custom monogram–too perfect! Check these lovelies.

Throwback Thursday

We are mixing it up a bit and posting a throwback today. This was a fabulous Moroccan-themed Fortieth Birthday party at a private estate in Newport Coast. The lovely photos are from the lovely Crissy Farah and the decor by Matthew Robbins. This bash was equip with a fortune-teller, henna artist, gambling tables, and Moroccan costumes that we rented from one of the Hollywood studios. Guests had a fabulous meal by Wolfgang Puck Catering.

Vanilla Bake Shop goes Havana Chic for us…

As promised, here are the gorgeous images from our “Havana Chic” Bride & Bloom shoot with Vanilla Bake Shop .  *love*love*love* the dessert spread Amy created from our original Inspiration Board for the shoot.  The poster served as the initial inspiration for the “Havana Chic” theme–we just wanted to share it with you because we are obsessed with everything about it: font, style, colors, the Hollywood-Art Deco-throwback vibe.

Wedding Chicks: Thanks for the Blog Love Ladies!

We LOVE the Wedding Chicks (and their Blog). We are also members of their Preferred Vendor List in L.A. and it’s such an honor to be included.  Anyway, our friends Chris & Katie Humphreys –photographers extraordinaire–sent them some photos of a “Bride & Bloom” shoot we did with them, and as always, their photos look fabulous.  Thanks to Matthew Robbins  for coming out to L.A. with us and creating the the amazing florals.
Chirs Humphreys Photography

Katie & Chris sent us over this Havana inspired photo shoot featured in Bride and Bloom Magazine for all of you to enjoy. So in love with the lovely white vases filled with every beautiful shade of green you can imagine. The pops of kumquats are such an added treat.

The lush green flowers provided a colorful and exotic backdrop for the unique stationery designed by Ceci and desserts by the fabulous Amy Berman of Vanilla Bake Shop. The venue was Marvimon, which is a unique loft-type space designed for special events in downtown Los Angeles.

Lyndsey Hamilton, one of our favorite event planners coordinated this amazing spread. Such a keen eye for detail and her team always seems to always deliver that, “wow” factor! A job well done.

More images from the Newport Coast event

This is an event we worked on with Matthew Robbins from Artfool. I posted it a few days ago with a link to Artfool’s blog, but I noticed Matthew’s photos were in the daylight, and the lighting was such a lovely attribute of this event. Click on the image below to get a slightly better view, and there are actually a few extra images.

Three Events. One Weekend.

While Carrie & Kristin were working a wedding in New York, Jen & Kelly were also running a wedding in San Diego, and  Lyndsey and I spent the weekend putting on a flawless surprise engagement party in Laguna Beach. Guests were flown in from all over the US to watch our client’s surprise proposal to his girlfriend, then enjoy each other’s company and celebrate all weekend! Everything came together perfectly, and we received nothing but rave reviews from everyone involved.

We were able to have this party in a brand new boutique hotel that is not even open yet; they had a “soft” opening just for our event. The name of the property is Seven4One, and with their stellar views and fun location, we think it’s one of the more unique sites in Orange County to host a smaller, intimate event.

Keep checking back: we’ll have pictures posted as soon as they arrive! Just to give you an idea, here’s a picture of the view from the venue.
