Being Awesome: The Church Estate

So, Noah, Kelly & I took the drive up the 101 to the Church Estate in Malibu yesterday for a walk-thru. We have a client getting married there later this year and all we can say is A.MA.ZING! The Church Estate sits on a nine acre vineyard and is home to the most lovely stables, an incredible boat house, clay tennis court, and killer views. The 8000 sq ft house is design perfection. No detail is overlooked. Every room is decorated with its own unique French Provincial palette. The kitchen has the largest farmhouse sink I’ve ever seen and the wine cellar has 2000 year-old stone floors imported from Cypress, yes 2000 year-old stones. Although many a celeb has been married at the Estate, our plans are to make this party like no other the estate has ever hosted. True LHE-style. Brills.

Gallivanting: Forage

Sor for the lack of posts lately. But, the busy season is upon us, and, well, we are out there planning amazing events. Anywho, being the big fans we are of things produced locally and organically, we naturally (pun intended) love Forage. The menu changes based on what’s in season, available, fresh, and gathered from Farmer’s Markets. Yum. You ask the meaning behind the name? Patrons can barter whatever they have growing in their own gardens to be used in the food. So, drive down Sunset and head to Silverlake for all that this little gem has to offer. And, if you have some, bring garlic, onions, shallots, or avocado. That’s what they are foraging these days.

Imagery: Victoria Janashvili

When Victoria reached out to us we immediately fell for her images. Romantic. Vintage. Sexy. From her intimate and beautifully artistic boudoir sessions to capturing emotion on the wedding day, Victoria’s work is two parts high-fashion photography, one part W mag retro photo shoot. Here is some info about Victoria, in her own words…

As a woman and a recent bride, I know all too well how important the smallest, most minute details can be, for each and every wedding is unique in its own way.  There is nothing “cookie cutter” about the most important day in a woman’s life.  Everything has to be flawless: the skin, the hair, the dress, the smile, the music – everything has to be about the unique you!  And of course, the last thing you should be worried about on this day is photography.  I strive to really understand my clients’ needs to make sure my work appears seamless and the results exceed all expectations. I studied photography at the London College of Fashion and honed my skills by working directly with world renowned fashion and beauty photographers.  A little over 2 years ago I started by own business in London doing fashion, beauty, boudoir and wedding photography and have never looked back.  I have shot all over Europe since and have now moved to NYC to embark on a new and exciting adventure. What makes Victoria Janashvili Photography different? “vogue retouching”, boudoir session for the bride and creativity!

Being Awesome: Spectacle Island

Our fashionable and in-the-know brides are always looking for incredible spaces to host their weddings. Well, recently we stumbled across an amazing location: Spectacle Island. Off the coast of Maine, located in Frenchman’s Bay, this amazing post and beam, hand-carved home is perfect for a private New England wedding. Transportation to and from the Island is by way of your own private captain and boat. The entire house is available for rental and can include a chef. We will have no problem creating an amazing tented wedding on this serene island. Good times.
